Subject:      Blackboard 8.0 Status Update

Dear Colleagues:

    As you know the Blackboard Recovery Team last night was successful in restoring interim access to the CUNY Blackboard 8.0 system.  Thankfully the system has remained available and stable throughout the day and we did not observe any degradation in service or response time.  We will continue our monitoring efforts and hope to maintain this stability while Blackboard, Inc. completes the necessary work to transition CUNY to a hosted environment.

    While the data replication process between CUNY and the hosted environment appears to be working, we are unable to confirm or validate the synchronization process until we have access to the system in the hosted environment.  We continue to urge our users to keep copies and print any data they submit or change while using the interim CUNY Blackboard system.

    I will continue to keep the user community informed of any progress made.
